The 1/2" foam pad absorbs vibration from the buffer that would transfer to the floor leaving skips, cuts, chatter or scratches on the floor. The soft drive HS head has a rubber shock absorber built under the clutch plate, delivering an even smoother floor. Soft drive HS works at up to 1000 rpm for burnishing stain, hardwood finish, oils and waxes. Heavy duty metal cluth plate.
